He is two weeks old. It turns out that when healing up both physically and emotionally from a difficult birth there is nothing so efficacious as curling up with the baby and not letting go, nor going anywhere, for a few weeks (the empathy and concern I received from other mums and my healthcare team helped rather a great deal, too; thank you all so very much).
He is absolutely lovely. A remarkably peaceful little thing. His body is so open and relaxed.
In two more weeks it will be time for all of us to venture back out into the world, to endure car seats and schedules, but for now we get to stay quiet and close, settling in together. What an incredible gift.
